Kids’ Party Food
Food for a kids party can be anything from an assortment of finger foods, to pasta, or hot dogs for the older kids.
However, when you’re deciding on a children’s party menu, remember to keep in mind that kids tend not to eat a great deal at parties, particularly the three to five year olds.
If you are unsure about quantities, a good suggestion is to buy some extra prepackaged goodies, and to keep these on hand. Then if they’re not needed you can always pop them into lunch boxes, or use them for snacks.
Here’s a list of just some of the food that you could choose to serve at a kids party. Some are more suitable for older children, but they’re all easy to prepare, and many can be made in advance of an event:
Sandwiches cut into fun shapes with a cookie cutter
Potato chips (crisps)
Cherry tomatoes
Cheese
Bread sticks
Cheese straws
Mini sausages
Pigs in a blanket
Decorated cupcakes
Cookies
Brownies
Trifle
Jell-o (jelly) and ice cream
Candy
Pizza
Pasta
Hot dogs
Dips
Salad
Fruit
And not forgetting a birthday cake too.
