Honey-Nut Cookies
This recipe will make about 20 Honey-Nut Cookies.
2 cups (8oz) all-purpose flour
8 tablespoons (4oz) soft margarine or butter
4oz soft brown sugar
2 tablespoons clear honey
4oz chopped nuts
you will also need
A baking sheet or 2
Parchment paper (optional)
If you are using butter in this recipe it needs to be soft, so you may have to leave it out of the refrigerator for several hours or perhaps even overnight. If on the other hand you’re using soft margarine this should ideally be removed from the refrigerator about an hour or so before baking.
Then when you’re ready to begin, line with parchment paper or grease a baking sheet and preheat the oven to 350°F.
Now put the margarine or butter and the sugar into a bowl and cream (beat) together until pale and fluffy – a handheld electric mixer is ideal for this. Now gradually fold in the flour by stirring lifting and with the side of a metal spoon cutting through the mixture. Then mix in the nuts and honey.
Divide the mixture into about twenty, shape into rounds, flatten slightly and place on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
Eat.
