Deep Fried Chicken
6 chicken pieces
1½ cups of flour (6oz)
1 cup of milk
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1 egg
1 teaspoon of salt
¼ teaspoon of pepper
First rinse the chicken pieces under running cold water and pat them dry on paper towel.
Then put the flour, baking powder, salt and pepper into a bowl and stir together.
In a separate bowl beat the egg; then gradually add this and the milk to the dry ingredients and mix to make a batter.
Now dip the chicken pieces into the batter and then deep fry them for about 20 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
Drain the fried chicken on crumpled paper towel and serve, perhaps with French fries and salad.
